Chrome lined?
« on: March 01, 2011, 03:36:29 PM »
I'm working on my 12ga SB1 turkey rig and I would like to polish / burnish the barrel.  As I understand it this is very beneficial but should not be done to chrome lined barrels.  Are any of the NEF / H&R  12ga barrels chrome lined.  I do not think mine is but I want to be sure, how can I tell?  Thanks!!

I don't think H&R has ever made chrome lined shotgun barrels, not on modern single shots anyway.

never made a chrome lined barrel, it would jump the price about 2x's, go ahead and polish away, every time i've deep cleaned/polished my patterns have improved

Have you tried lengthening the forcing cone?
