Thanks for posting those pictures!  I've often wondered what FA's adjustable front sight setup looked like.  Have you measured how wide the blade is?

The apparent width of the blade is adjustable, by turning it. See his second picture. The narrowest setting is .050". The widest is more than is useable with the rear sight, but the apparent width is infinitely adjustable between the two extremes.

Ken called it... The rotation of the sight pin screws it up and down for elevation with the option to stop at any point changing the width.   Means the width can be anywhere from the min to the max.  I can slap a mic on it and provide numbers if you need them.

Here is how it works out on the FA.
#1 Is where they go:

#2 Is the sight and hood:

#3 Shows the boss under the base to accomodate the hood:

#4 Shows the sight installed:

#5 Is the complete Premier Grade FA 44:

#6 Silhouette sighted FA 83 in 22, 357, and 44:
