If you go to Hodgdon's website,(data.hodgdon.com), they have a large amount of load data for the .41. And everything else for that matter. From 170 to 265gr loads and lots of them. I emailed the pages I wanted to myself and stored them for future use. Also, handloads.com. One favorite load of mine that is safe to print is 7.5grs of W-231 under a 215gr SWC cast with WW in a RCBS mold. 1100fps with 5.5'' barrel. I ordered an LBT mold for a Redhawk I had, a 300gr WLN-GC. Won't give the charge weight but it is lots of H 110. A very compressed load. Just under 1500fps with a 5.5''bbl. I like things as simple as possible so I only use H 110 for intense loads and W 231 for lower velocity loads. The 231 takes care of my .38s and .45s also. I shoot these loads in my Rugers but not the 300gr in my S&Ws. The mold was custom cut for the Redhawk at .411. My Smiths bore size is .408. I tried it once and almost blew up a pinned and recessed M 57 4''. The cases were stuck so tight in the cylinder that I had to bang on the ejector to get them out. Really should not have tried it on a really hot summer day. Made it worse. Can't come much closer to blowing one up than that. If your going to play with heavy loads work up very slowly and keep in mind that hot temps, like summer, increase pressure. For best accuracy keep bullet weights at 250grs or lighter. Twist rates aren't fast enough in Rugers or Smiths to handle the big boys. I use to think bigger is better but now I think lighter with a large flat nose and faster is best. Good luck and good shooting !
