I need to make a custom flashing for my house. For reasons of economy, and to 'keep it real' I decided to use 26 gauge galvanized sheet steel. Wrt to making the joints, I am thinking of either screwing the seams together with machine screws & nuts & bolts (non standard, I know), panel bond or some type of epoxy, or soft soldering the seams together after folding them in place with a hand seamer. Does anyone know off the top of their head, if there is a soft solder that will adhere to the zinc plating? I know there must be something out there like that, because I have gone through a couple of crates of CZ surplus 7.62X39 ammunition, and the inner box is heavy galvanized soft solderered at the seams. Best regards, Tony.
