I don't know why it said that but slugs are way to small. .410 dia. 45 colt is at least .451. It will rattle down the barrel and group in feet instead of inches. I use a tamer barrel with the choke bored out for slugs, works good.

I have read here that many people have had success with these guns. I did not. I graduated to the 45 CC and the tamer. My best success was with 9.5X75R brass fire formed, 3" brass. Expensive but once made last forever. I used Trail Boss and a cast 452 bullet and got about 4 to 6 inch groups at 75y. Mine was drilled and tapped from the factory with standard weaver holes. I had an old 3X9 scope on it and my son used it for years deer hunting. The standard 45 colts shot about 8 to 12 inches at 50y. I discovered this forum and became corrupted. I then traded it in on a 45LC Classic Carbine. 2 to 4 inches at 100y with a red dot. I now have about 8 handi's. The 410 side was not good  for hunting but fine for garden work and camping.
