El Dorado single action 44 mag
« on: December 27, 2003, 02:28:11 AM »
I have a stainless steel 44 mag made by a company called El Dorado. I believe that they were bought by another company and called Seville. I seem to remember that the first Linebaugh conversions were made on these frames. Is there anyone out there that can tell me anything about these guns? How many were made? What they might be worth? It is a high quality single action that really shoots. Shotgunner

all i know is John says there good guns and like you said they were some of his first conversion projects. If he says there strong good guns take his word for it. I think the biggest drawback to them was that replacement parts were hard to come by.

I had a Stainless Seville in .44 mag. but got rid of it because it was a very noisy revolver in the woods. Many a deer heard that gun when I cocked the hammer. It was a strong gun and seemed overly built. I never saw strength as an issue. The other reason for geting rid of it was due to the company going out of business and the future availability of spare parts. I would only buy one again  today if the price was a "give away" price and even then I would have to think about it.  Good Luck - J.Solo
