357 Max ammo storage
« on: March 23, 2011, 02:13:46 PM »
For loaded 357 maximum ammo storage I have MTM 50 round boxes labelled "17/223 REM, 222 REM MAG, 204 Ruger" with a piece of 3/8" closed cell foam in the lid to take up the extra space. What do you all use? Are there ammo boxes specifically made for 357 maximum rounds?

Thanks
Tim

I have several that are from J & J. They are for 22 Hornet and 357 Max.

I have several , a frankford brand box.  Its specifically made for the 357 max along with  a few other calibers , all marked on the bottom.  Another box, a MTM brand , is labled 22-250 , 223 and a host of other calibers.  It doesn't mention 357 max , but they do work , perhaps a little off in size but certainly useable.  Hope this helps.
BTW , the MTM brand seems to be a much better box.  omho

Thanks for the replies. I'll check out the J&J and Frankford cases.

Thanks for pointing this out.  I was wondering about 357 Max boxes myself just the other day.

This is the ones I like to use as well.

The 22H boxes work too, but not as well as the J&J or Frankfort boxes do.

I was at Gander Mtn. today and they had MTM 50 round boxes for 38/357 with slip covers (not hinged)
that would work. I use the same style for my .445 super mag, they are labeled for 44 special/ 44 Mag.  I also took a loaded round to the store and tried boxes to find one that worked . I have a couple of 100 round hinged lids that read 6mm 7mm Benchrest that work for my .445.
