I have to say that i was only a matter of time before we became involved.  I hope they lay waste to the entire country and that way we dont have to send troops for a third time.  There are now 3 fronts to fight on thanks to our government.
Maybe Obama should put on his war gear and lead the charge.  I bet he wont be so quick to involve americans in someone elses civil war.  There are plenty of other places in Africa that need help before lybia does.

I still don't understand why we are there. It seems Ghaddaffi was just minding his own business doing what any African dictator does as part of standard operating procedure, like decimating internal rivals. Then kaboom! It's suddenly an emergency for Europe and North America. It seems Obama has said Ghaddaffi "needs to go". But why?

Is this some kind of political stunt to engage republicans in the kind of spending spree that republicans traditionally support?

I would feel like idiot if I had enlisted in the military only to find out that I had to do jobs like this. Dying in a war like this is as ignominious as drowning in your own bathtub.

If this is true.

Once again THE LIAR may have lived up to his name.
"There will be no AMERICAN troops on the ground in LIBIA"
"We will not be sending any troops into LIBIA"

Looks like it may be true.

EXIMAMINER.COM

Despite repeated chants coming from the United States government reassuring Americans that we will not send ground troops to Libya, 2200 Marines out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, are already there.

Yesterday, the Sunday morning political talk shows each  had a different set of U.S. Senators and retired generals parroting each other.  “No U.S. forces will go to Libya.”

Apparently, officials in Washington, DC, didn’t “get the memo”.

As published by this Examiner on March 11, the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine, II Marine Expeditionary Force Marines left North Carolina to join the U.S. Navy aboard  the USS Kearsarge and the USS Ponce; both assault ships that were heading toward the Mediterranean Sea via the Suez Canal.

I don't guess this confirms that they are actually on the ground in LIBIA but they are there and ready.
We will just have to wait and see if he lied or not!

Just posted on yahoo.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama categorically ruled out a land invasion to oust Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi Wednesday as coalition forces launched a fifth day of air strikes against government military targets in the North African nation.
