Jim,
I know the book says that 45ACP headspaces off the case mouth but the reality is most 45ACP headspaces off the extractor or the bullet if it is seated long enough. I load lots of 45ACP for Bullseye shooting & the brass shrinks with reloading. I keep loading to the same OAL and never have a FTF in a 1911, unless of course when I load the primer upside down.
I know I can headspace a 45ACP in a Handi with the ejector I was mostly interested in the bullet jump issue. I am thinking I want the 45 Win Mag because the brass is just long enough to qualify for an Indiana legal deer rifle, but am curious if I would have any accuracy problems with the 45 ACP or 45 Super rounds. It's been a long winter, I got to keep dreaming up stuff.
