Makes sense to me. Law abiding people are a lot less dangerous than criminals, so there are strong incentives to do busy work like this instead of doing risky stuff. You can make an entire career of this sort of thing.

(Works the same in the CIA, where all the incentives are to do networking in Washington DC rather than actually working as a field agent abroad. Most of the CIA does busy work here in the US instead of gathering intelligence and doing useful stuff abroad. Kind of defeats the purpose of the CIA, right?)

It's long been one of my pet peaves that when LE enters a home, for whatever reason, the media makes a big deal if there are fireams in the home. No matter at all if they are totally legal. They make it seem like the fact they are there makes the home owner automaticly a criminal. Case in point, on an episode of Nancy Grace, she made a big deal that a guy had a semi auto handgun. She stated that only law enforcement and military should be allowed to own one, now get this, because a SEMI-AUTO fired several rounds with one pull of the trigger. She had a retired detective as a guest comentater as well as a policeman, yet only one person tried to correct her explaining that a semi-auto fired one round only per pull of the trigger, and that was a woman attorney. Admit she was mistaken? Nope! She went right on with her rant calling a semi-auto a full auto and insinuating that the guy had to be guilty simply because he owned such a weapon! I wanted to reach through the screen and slap her silly! It was bad enough, her ignorance, but those that could have, and should have, corrected her didn't even try! I feel sorry for tis poor guy and a shame he can't sue. However, if he tried you can bet they'd nail him good on some trumped up charge.

PS, Shootall I'm sure you remember the issue with my shoot through wallet holster. Other than the BATFE refering me to my local Sheriff's Office, which said it was legal as long as I have a CCW Permit, I've still recieved no definite answer from the BATFE. Even though I sent them pictures of the wallet and described my concern in detail. They have not commented at all as to the letter to the manufacturer of the wallet saying it had been reviewed by them and found to be legal. But, should for some reason an agent wanted to go after me you can bet they'd suddenly decide it was definitely illegal!

SPIRITHAWK. Another irritating thing is when the media talks about a semiauto with a fire rate of 350-400 rds per min. Makes no difference if it has a 20 rd mag. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

It iritates the devil out of me that the very people who's responsability it is to uphold a law can't even tell you what that law is when asked. It's not rocket science, I asked a very simple question....legal or not, complete with pic of the holster. They shrugged their shoulders and passed the buck. Even their own agents could not get an answer. It's as if they intentionaly wanted to leave it open to debate so as to be able to use it as they see fit from one moment to the next.  Now, as someone who is trying to make sure he is carrying in a legal manor that seriously po's me!

In the case of Ruby Ridge federal agents were not only guilty of murder but it was premeditated murder. And the command to do so came from high up on the food chain.
And that is but one incident where federal agents killed without justifiable cause and no accountability.Agencies like the IRS destroy lives every day and are immune to prosecution.
The government controls the courts and armed with tax payer money they need only hold you at bay until you are broke. None of these scum work for the people they serve the government only.
All federal agencies and the Supreme Court should be should be shut down investigated a joint court of civilian and military and then disband forever.

It would be interesting to hear the other side of the story. Generally, there is probable cause for that much effort.....just saying.  :-\

In a system like ours where we pay for our courts with our taxes and those same courts are the benefactors of the the levies and fines they impose justice will never be had when the transgressor is the system.
When a servant or employee transgresses or wrongfully takes something that entity should be fired and or at the very least be made to pay restitution to the victim  for all costs and damages. This will never happen on a government level because the courts all of it's officers and bureaucratic arms  do not work for the people and  have no interest in justice. The system exist only to to generate revenue for the state and to perpetuate its own existence.
