Swedish Mauser in 9.3

Here's a couple pics of my Swede in 9.3 X 57. I restocked it in a Germanic stle stock. It weighs six and a half pound. Fun off the bench!

Nice gun . Is it based on the 96 or 98 action . Then too is it a 9.3x57 or 9.3 x62  as we see both offered on both actions here in Canada .
It seems the dies in 9.3x57 cost as much as some of the rifles offered . The rifles seem to be plagued with spits in the tang area , as with a lot of mausers .

96 It's former life was a model 46. Splits in the tang area are easily fixed by releving that area and glass beading the action.

Very Nice. I have been keeping my eye out for a decent 9.3X62 but these large calibers are not something you really see in South Texas.

Do you have any Cabela's store close. They have a ton of them here in Phoenix. Some 96's mostly 98's in 9.3 X57. The 62 is an easy rechamber job.

There is a Cabela's store about 72 mi from San Antonio in Buda Tx. I was there a couple of weeks ago and did not see any. But I may go back and look again.

Mauser98us since you put Whelen in your sub line. I just had a 35 Whelen built and hope to shoot it soon.

You'll love it. I built mine about 25 years ago.If I had to dispose of all I had except two, I would keep my 270 and my 35 Whelan AI. Have them send you one from the Glendale store here.

Yeah my stock was messed up by some idiot before I got it. Ya gotta have one of those braided sling to finish it off. Long time no hear Brit.

Things are not good here right now so not been about much... The plaited sling was originally brought to go on my air rifle back in the early 1980's
