Knight Vision?
« on: April 12, 2011, 06:02:04 AM »
There's not alot written about these.  With the prices of these now, is there a reason NOT to buy one?  Leaning towards one of these but also considering Traditions Buckstalker or T/C Impact.

Knight Rifles makes a decent product, and they're made here in the US.  They are back in business, after being purchased by another investment group, but with a change of address, so you don't have to worry about service for their rifles.  Knight also uses Green Mountain barrels in the Vision.
If you can get this at a good price, buy it.  It shoots great. It's easy to clean and disassemble. I bought the gun after a friend showed me his, which had the non red primer carrier system in it.  The gun I purchased also had the non-primer carrier breech plug conversion installed.  Some people may disagree but, IMHO, I consider this a better ignition system than the original style which required the red primer carrier (DISC) system.  Plus you don't have to pay extra for the primer carriers, which aren't needed.  If your one of those that like to fire up to 150 grains of BP, the Vision will handle it.  I get clover leaf groups with 100grs (2 pellets) of Triple 7, using a saboted 240gr Hornady XTP bullet.  I think SG has Knight Visions on sale right now at a  good price.

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

I went ahead and ordered a Vision, black with stainless barrel.  The price is good and I like the way it looks better than the others in that price range.  I had about three times more than the price of the rifle in bullets and powder.  For the hazmat fee I had to buy enough to make it worthwhile so have some Triple 7 and BH209 to try and some Pyrodex for the .54's.
