I like Toppers-Need a Stopper
« on: March 22, 2011, 01:05:13 PM »
If everything goes right I'll have my fourth 30-30 topper by the end of this week. Just can't seem to turn down those lightweight slim profile barrels. Just finishing up my third one and will mount the scope today or tomorrow. Then another comes along and I just can't kick the habit. Topperitis has got a hold on me!

This is my nearly completed 20" barrel Topper mated to a 2005 SB2 receiver with Choat buttstock and Numrich forearm.

Troyboy and Pete, These Toppers just seem to appear out of nowhere. One I purchased here(just the barrel) and had one from a longtime ago. The new one from a Wisconsin gun store. They are all going to the grandyoungin's someday. Now with the LeverEvolution propellant and 170 grain Sierra FN's 2300+ fps make a helluva nice whitetail round. For practise rounds for the youngin's 130 and 135 grain Single Shot Pistol Bullets I stocked up on work great with little recoil.

good deal....I recently got a 158 357 magnum barrel. It's much lighter than the 357 barrel they sell now. Feels like a completely different rifle.

I keep hoping NOT to find anymore of these barrels, but like a magnet, I keep attracting them! ;D

Good find on the .357, I imagine with the even bigger bore it is really light. Don't have one of those..........................................yet

got a 158 in .22 Hornet with the correct action and all. I like the 158 actions due to their lack of transfer bars.
