Marlin 880 ss
« on: September 07, 2008, 01:34:22 PM »
My son has a Marlin 880 that he wants to sell me and I haven't seen it yet. I shoot M1 Garands a lot and I am wanting a .22  to practice with and I want to use Peep sights.

My question is , can peep sights be put on an 880 that will clear the bolt upon opening with out problems ?

Peep in the rear should not be a problem... I had a Williams that clamped to the "22 scope Grove" and that worked fine. But I don't think these have a front site....

I have one of the first models, actually a pre-production 880SQ blues and it DID have front site dovetail, but there was a blank installed.

You could still have a dovetail cut or have the front site D&T easy enough.
