I'm debating on a Kimber Pro Carry HD II and a Colt Commander XSE stainless. My question is whether a Colt magazine will work in a Kimber or not. Anyone know?

They should be absolutely interchangeable.  I believe that when it comes to 1911s, the only improvements made in the magazines is in additional rounds and reliability with redesigned followers.

I'm looking at the cover of the latest American Rifleman which features a Kimber Royal II and I think that when I get another full-size 1911 that might just be the one I would get.  However, I am also lusting for a S&W Scandium 1911 with a 4.25" bbl (Commander length).  Hmmm, might just have to get them both.

Anyhow, mags interchange.

Thanks.   I'll feel better knowing that  the mags that I have for my Colt will fit.
