Now is this national or personel debt? I have sorta instigated gun control on the procurement side :) .

Dee, I have been thinking of doing the same thing.  I decided to keep (maybe) two rifles, one shotgun and two pistols...........problem is I just can't make the decision on what goes and what stays. ??? ???

Well rockbilly, as I get older, volume doesn't make as much since to me as it did in my younger years. I have 3 rifles, two shotguns, two 22 rifles, and three pistols. All the others I sold, and no longer feel stupid for owning guns I never use. I even have a lever action I have been thinking about either selling, trading for ammo, or giving to my son. It has been a favorite for many years, but my old Model 94 3030 will do the same thing, so I still thinkin on it.

I currently have a sizeable collection acquired over a fifty year period, many of them I have never shot, I bought them at the time because they were a good buy.  While in the military I tried to keep 2-3 hundred in my pocket at all times, it seems the first thing to go when someone needed money was their guns.  For example, I bought two brand new Sakos (a 243 bullbarrel, a 222, and a like new model 42 Winchester for $350.  Another time I bought two Browning Hi-Powers (Beligum made) for $200.  Guns like this went in the safe and most never saw daylight afterwards.  Today I realize I don't need them so I plan to start cutting down, the grankids will all get a few, I will keep a few and the rest along with the three safes will find new homes.  My wife tells me not to worry, they are her trip to Russia after I'm gone. ::)
