1st Savage 22LR and it's an AXIS model
« on: August 29, 2011, 09:29:07 AM »
I picked up my first Savage on Saturday and come to find out NOBODY knows anything about it, nor that they made this model, and I didn't pay extra for it. It's a NEW Savage AXIS 22LR, Model 28575. Now, you're gonna say, the Axis is centerfire. YES, and now NO. Somebody out there, and I'm looking into it, Special Ordered an allotment of 22's with the MarkII stock, FV model heavy-barrel,  no sights, drilled/tapped with scope bases, 5-shot clip, and NO AccuTrigger, along with the OK from Savage to put name AXIS on barrel. I called Savage to have somebody there help me out with finding info about this rifle of who ordered it, how many made and any other info they can get for me. The Savage Rep said that rifle won't be worth any more than a stock type MarkII, but I feel that maybe he could be wrong. Just look at other special rifles that had limited runs and what you have to pay for them as collector's guns, even when you know the information about them, but I could be wrong---we'll see. I'm not gonna sell it due to this break-through, but I'm sure gonna enjoy it for the rest of my lifetime, when I know what I got.
