I too am very sorry on what you received from your deal.  I've not had many trades on GBO, but have had only top shelf experiences from each one.  I agree with CW, many here are someone I consider friend.  I commend you for taking the highroad on this deal, and the guy is truely a rectum.  DP

Tom, that really stinks.  I can't believe you're going to rework it!  Post the 'after' pics.

I agree with CW.  Fortunately, these situations seem extremely rare and I would buy from the reg crowd on here with complete confidence.  Kudos to Tim and GB.

The fit and finish on those 'Profino' barrels, a real hit or miss.  I think this 'Profino' label might just stick as a GB original.

I believe in this forum and  the good people who frequent here.  I've had, I believe 28 transactions here, buy, sell and trades, and every one has been perfect.  It just ticks me off when some dirtbag shows up and soils that image.  As previously said, trade only with the known members.

I want to see the "after" pics.

I am a big  believer in what goes around comes around.... the seller will get his one day in spades!
My FFL holder requires any firearms to be shipped to them via another FFL holder.  So, If I make an offer on a firearm please let me know if this is capable of being done from the start.  Please do NOT mark an item "SPF" to me until we "both" are happy with and in agreement on shipping, funds and the transaction in general.   Thanks

Hey, Maybe some good can come from all this after all.  1.  Like Stuart C. said, we now have a new definition.  If something is poor quality, it can be described as "profino" and everyone will know what the condition is.  Only problem is, I have never seen such trash on this forum before now!!  2.  Anyone who would push something like that off on another member, at any price will surely not try again, so we should be shed of him.  Some folk put a mighty poor price on their integrity.  Gerald

I'm thinking about this some more, and am surprised you received a barrel at all.  It'd be pretty easy for someone to sign up the same day and post something for sale that doesn't even exist just to make a quick hundred or so bucks.  I hate rules/regulations and such, but would hate to see someone else get hosed here.

I checked the rifling and chamber and they are good, Must have been done by someone else as he would have screwed it up for sure.

Before I send any one money I do a search and Make sure the address they give belongs to them. It is kind of funny the writing on the box looked like it had been done by a 3 year old. He even mispelled the town HE lives in. I don't think he is the sharpest tool in the shed.

Good to hear the chamber looks OK, but if it doesnt work maybe it could become a .35Rem? or be a donor stub?
Im with Crow Buster, these kind of people have somehow missed the point that you reap what you sow; they rip somebody here and somebody down the line will soak them for more!
I understand the logic of a 'probationary' period, but ya gotta do trades to get a trade count and feedback.

Tom,

I really am surprised  and ashamed  that you got taken, by a "member" of this board.  Actually angry  would probably better describe my feelings toward "Diedeyed".  I'm a fairly new member, but I feel the guys on this site are the best, and love the friendly atmosphere.  It's a shame that you got taken.  As my wife is fond of saying, "what goes around, comes around".  Kudos to "quickdtoo" for being "quick dtoo" the right thing.
The only saving grace about this entire episode is that you have the knowledge & wherewithal to fix the problem.  I too look forward to seeing your fix.  I'm sure it will be a real "pro-finished barrel" instead of: a "profino" barrel by "Marrynred".

Tom , sorry to hear about this , I am fairly new to this sight six months or so and have done six transactions in the classifieds all have been flawless deals as a newbie I tried to go out of my way to point out any flaws in the item for sale and even offered money back to buyer if the condition wasnt as advertised,  I dont have a camera yet so communication with buyer is the key and for me it has worked out great just hope this was a fluke as this is a great site
