FA Cylinder Lock Too Soon
« on: March 12, 2011, 08:31:15 AM »
I have an early FA M83 454 Casull in which the cylinder lock is popping back up about 3/8" prior to the cylinder notch ramp.  Gun function fine.  But, leaves a mark on the cylinder.  Would a new cylinder lock delay the return until the cylinder has rotated to the cylinder notch ramp?  I'll call John on Monday.

Both, my FG and PG do likewise and troubles me not as I see it as normal/preferred. The premature pop up assures, to me at least, no over-shoot under rapid fire condition like a charging bruin. Thats just my take YMMV

Has it not always done this?
Friends don't let friends buy BSA scopes.

My Premier Grade 454 does this as well. I'm not sure if this is normal, but seems so with ours all doing it.

A few seconds with a green scotchbrite pad erases any lock marks on the circumference of the cylinder.
It's worked for me for over 20 years.
