Lehigh Conversion Kits Becomming Available
« on: March 05, 2011, 04:34:11 AM »
For those that might be interested....

I was dinging around on Dave's web site and noticed that he is now ready to accept orderes for the last avaible 200 kits from Lehigh. Once they are gone you wil have to purchase them from Knight Rifles directly.

You might take a cruise over to Lehigh... Be sure and read the direction about purchase... the part about accepting order... then the expected shipping dates... and how you are goingto get charged....

I have no idea how long these are going to last so if you inclined to get one probably ought to do it soon...

I wonder what the price through Knight will be? I bought a few through Lehigh & am set for the most part. I have a buddy that still uses the red primer discs & is happy. I'm much more of a tinker'er than he is. He really doesn't know how much cleaner the bolt stays with the Lehigh conversion. In the cold those plastic discs can be a little easier to handle, though I do fine with the bare primers.

Knight sales the conversion for the same price. The only difference is you have to pay the shipping.

The Lehigh site says they are out of stock and points you to the Knight site.

The one at the Knight sight doesn't seem to have the vent liner that the Leigh plug I bought has.  I have one of the original Knight non-FPJ plugs (sold by Knight long before Lehigh was selling theirs). It doesn't have a vent liner, and the flash channel was small and produced hang fires with BH209.

The Lehigh plug I bought with the vent liner seems to have a bigger flash channel. I have not had hang fires with BH209 using it.  I wonder if what Knight is selling is the original Knight non-FPJ plug or the one from Lehigh with a bigger flash channel. Since the Lehigh site points to the Knight site, the one Knight is selling must be a new version.  I just didn't see the vent liners in the picture of the one at the Knight site.

MikeC

A couple of things to share with you Mike.  The NFPJ conversion kit offered on the Knight web site is the Lehigh Conversion.  The picture on the Knight web site is not the correct picture, I actually think it is a picture of a Knight NPFJ conversion.  They have not posted any pictures of the new Lehigh breech plugs.

The only difference from the the original Lehigh Conversion and the offered on the Knight site is that the 'Lehigh Vent Liner' is brazed in place.

Because of contractual agreements Lehigh can no longer sell the conversion, however they will still be offering and selling the Lehigh Vent Liner.
