Sig 40 s&w reloading

Hi all,
I've been around here for a while as a reader and observer. Always find what I'm looking for without asking. I don't remember if I have ever posted. But I finally have something I don't understand and haven't found:
In the reloading manuals, they talk about the Sig regarding cartridge support in the chamber. Does a Sig 40 fully support the cartridge in the chamber? An asterik in the reloading data talks about this and warns of case bulging, ruptures, headspace separation, and injury or death to the shooter or people around him.
So can someone explain what all of this means.
My friend is setting up to reload on this cartridge and we both want to understand this before we go any further.

To the best of my understanding SIGs are fully supported. I believe Glocks are not fully suported.

Welcome to GBO.  Great question...

It is my understanding that the Sig Sauer is fully supported.  If I remember supported deals with the area of the chamber that surrounds the case and supports the case in the chamber.  To test this remove the barrel and insert a round into the chamber and see how much of the case is exposed.   Also, since your reloading you might be interested in this write up http://www.thegunzone.com/glock/glock-kb-faq.html
