I just got mine a week ago, but really like it so far.  Was thinking about 445 SM, but brass is really hard to get ahold of.  Was thinking of rechambering to 44/454 JDJ instead, more power and easy to find brass.

Just picked one up last week, I really liked the fit and feel, I did not like the height of the Durasight bases/rings that came with the rifle. They were medium height, but were too high for my Nikon Omega scope. Weather permitting I hope to get out to sight the scout inthe next 2 weeks and see if it shoots as well as some of the other rifles I have read about. 445 is a possibility later down the road.

I love my Scout 44 mag. I've got a Redfield 3-9 on it and it's a one hole shooter. ;)

I haven't had a chance to shoot mine yet. I hope that it is a "one holer"! I didn't like the height of the mount, so I ordered a base from Midsouth and got the scope down close to the barrel. Not a lot of clearance for the hammer spur, but I like it much better.

The base that I ordered is the Durasight 215-DS102B. I bought mine from midsouth, but they are currently out of stock. However, I did a quick Google and several places have them.

This is just the base and it takes weaver style rings.

I put the ring/base that came with my scout and put it on a 30-06 that has a bigger scope and it works fine.

If anyone is interested,I ordered a 445 supermag reamer yesterday. I'll ream mine first, and then send to Quickdtoo, and he will rent it out on the H@R forum. So there,I'll be the first (maybe) to own a 445 Scout. ;D ;D ;D   Digger

How much of a pain is it to find 445 brass? If components are available I'll ream my Scout too. ;)

Has anyone seen a stainless 44 magnum?   I asked my favorite gun store, but their distributor was out of stock.
