Huntsman barrel not locking up

got a used 50 cal huntsman barrel. it seems to be a nice fit but doesnt wanna lock. i checked the barrel fit pages but didnt see anything about fixing lock up problems if the barrel is a good fit. i took some measurements from my other barrels and all looks the same.do i need to shave off somewhere?

Did ya check the" pop open medicine" in the faq's? Also make sure you are snapping it closed real good. Kurt

You musta skipped the latch engagement info in my barrel fitting instructions, read over that again and check it.

o.k. i found the "pop open medicine" down from the barrel fitting info.snapping it hard a couple times didnt do anything but loosen the plastic buttstock stock.the barrel fitting info was helpful to understand what to look for. i ended up cleaning the area real good and taking a small flat diamond file to  the ledge on the barrel.  an hour later trying removing as little as possible each try i finally got it to lock. according to the info pages the release lever should be about mid way when the lock is engaged.  this barrel is close to middle. in comparison the release lever rides a little higher with my other 2 factory fit barrels.i dont know if filing the back will make the lever ride higher. im afraid to remove too much. it locks nice and tight with no wobble or side play.the barrel seems to mate just like my other barrels.
