Newman's character, John Russell, carried this Winchester Model 1873, with shortened barrel:



Other various characters carried a Winchester 1876 rifle (bandito), a Winchester 1892 carbine (Richard Boone) , and a Colt 1878 SxS shotgun (stagecoach driver), besides the various handguns.
