XL7 magazine conversion ??

For a while I have heard 'whispers' of converting a XL7 (bolt.. 270) to a rifle with a hinged floorplate.  I am getting close to a project that would call for that.  I have (above) rifle that is a tack driver, and only miss the floorplate option...  any info or comments would be appreciated.. Bob
