H&R Topper Jr. Classic?

Just bought one the other day in a 28 gauge for $90.00 bucks. Seemed like a good deal to me. I realize 28's are limited as to ammo & a bit pricy too.

But I couldn't resist. I will use it for rabbit hunting. :)

Any experience with one? How's the recoil on these? Somewhere I read they are a bit harsh. Really?

Can I get a 410 barrel for it?

Seller and Beloit sells 1oz #6 loads for a 28 and it's not too pricey.

Geez, What a buy! If I had a 28 Id have no need for a 410. I dont even think Id want a recoil pad buttstock, cant imagine recoil being any kind of issue. Just stock up on some shells as you find them available and enjoy!

Wallmart has shells for about 10 bucks a box recoil is milder than a 20ga with trap loads. My 28ga is doing starling duty at my old farm house got my first double with it the other day. They were dumb enough to fly out and sit next to each other on a branch of a locust tree.

I had the 28 gauge! One great shooter! All things considered, I did as well with a .410 bore, but I like "em" both!! Great buy Man! You will like it. scout4<><

locust trees aren't so bad once they get big enough and get rid of the thorns. The hills around my house turn white when the locust bloom. Starlings on the other hand are just a PITA, but there fun to shoot on the wing.

28 gauge recoil is only a hair more than a .410 but the pattern is way better. You did well!
