308 Ultra?
« on: May 04, 2011, 10:36:07 PM »
I'am thinking about getting a 308 ultra and was wondering what everybody thinks of them, that
owns one? Also what grain bullet works the best?

Thanks,

Its generally a good shooter. I have a survivor barrel thats had its rim cut to accept the 307 case. The survivor barrel is heavier and a bit shorter.

Mine shoots 165s into tiny little groups...

Good luck,

I don't have an "Ultra" but do have a bull barrel 308 on a varmit stock...I just found this to be a more comfortable set up for me being a lefty.  Anyway, mine shoots fantastic!  Sub MOA all day long as long as the shooter does his part.  I think that this is an accurate roundno matter what setup you have.
If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to serve as a horrible warning.

Get one, they're a great choice!! Varget and 165/168gr are a winning combo, I also have the 22" Survivor bull barrel version, the Ultra Hunter is 22" standard contour, GeorgiaDave sure loved his too.
