Trappers hide tanning formula question

Hi:

  Has anyone here used Trappers Hide Tanning Formula? I got a pelt sitting in a salt bath and the bottle of tanning formula says nothing about a pickle. Should'nt I have put some sort of pickeling agent in the salt bath with the pelt?

I do believe that green pelts are salted with table salt on the flesh side--folded in and next day depending on fur,rinsed and salted again.I dont remember anything about a bath.Later I will go take a look at the bottles to see exactly what they say.
 What are you trying to tan ,also is it green ?  Tom

Hi:

1. the Pelt that I am trying to tan is a Fisher pelt .

2.The pelt was dry.

3. The pelt was fleshed and stretched before the tanning process was started.
