I wondered how it was possible on a forward base in Afghanistan, that one armed Muslim pilot could kill 9 armed Americans before being stopped.

Col Hunt explained on Fox News this morning...it was the same story as it was in Ft Hood..
The new rules of engagement refuse the troops permission to have rounds in their weapons on base !!! This is general officers being so careful about their "safety record"..having a negative impact on their careers. Remember, as I have said, above colonel , they can't all be trusted. Many have aims for 'other careers' after military retirement.
Col Hunt said Al Anbar province in Iraq was domesticated more rapidly than Afghanistan, because such stupid rules were not recognized.

He's the "commander in chief"... the buck stops at his desk. Some of us have been harping about this for 2 years or more. He had the Fort Hood experience to warn him..
If WE have known for a minimum of 2 years that our troops should be armed in these circumstances, why on God's green earth, did the "commander in chief" not know it ?

We.ve known this for more than 200 years, but it is only under the PC libs like the boy/king that our troops are kept disarmed in the face of the enemy..

I don't know how things on military bases are these days, but when I was in the Air Force, those who needed to be armed with loaded weapons, were. And there were some of us who had our own weapons. I carried whenever I felt the need.

I took basic and advanced in 1960-1961 in Ft. Leonard Wood. We didn't carry loaded arms. The MP's did
Later in Korea 61-62 only when on guard duty did we have a clip of ammo, nothing loaded in the rifle.
Next came Germany until 65, no ammo given for guard duty. I carried concealed a 25 ACP, a real manstopper that one!!

I'll take a shot at it - it was easy. Anytime someone is willing to trade their lives for others, they can do a lot of damage before being taken down. Easy.

Terrible thing to have happened. I'm sure the military is working on figuring out way to prevent recurrences... but some things are very hard to be secure against, when perp is willing to trade his life.

I never knew it was that bad for that long a time. Guard duty in a foreign land and no ammo. That is nuts. POWDERMAN.

They should have been working on it at least for a year or more...since the Muslim traitor/terrorist Maj Hassan did his murdering about 2 years ago..but still more are being murdered.

Here's a news flash for you.. There are a couple hundred thousand troops operating under those new R. O. E.... What difference if they are classified ? DUH I'm beginning to think you don't personally know anybody who is serving in the war zone..or even has served there in recent years. Sheesh ! No mysatery there, just talk to somebody who is presently in a combat unit !!!
I doubt the R.O.E. are classified..what would be the point, when everyone in the war zone has to know them ? Man, I can't believe this !

Assuming from your lack of any information as to the new ROE, I will provide you with some. Though classified they are no secret, since all combat troops MUST learn them...and there are a couple hundred thousand who have recently been or are serving in the war zone at the present time....

Now you can understand why many of the combat seasoned NCOs (sergeants) are leaving the military. In most cases, they have been in combat many times and have much to offer as they lead green troops as they enter combat for the first time. These same NCOs have proven they can hack combat..but they don't want their hands tied as they go into harms way. By forcing many experienced NCOs out, this is one way to eviscerate our combat forces and get more troops killed.
I guess Obama figures he can replace these experienced NCOs, since his policies may bring more queers into the military..

That should REALLY help !
