Of the five that did show up, I was most impressed by the center three... Cain, Pawlenty and Santorum. Paul had some very salient ideas such as getting rid of the Fed and straighten out the medical system. Cain, Pawlentry and Santorum would use enhanced interrogation techniques in order to protect the American people from being murdered as on 9/11..the other two would not. Cain and Pawlenty were very firm in insisting that the president's first commitment in such cases is to protect and defend the American people. Johnson looked good in just one area..to bring business cost/benefit calculations tro government budgeting. He was however not alone, since Cain has a very successful business background as CEO of Burger King and pulling Godfather's Pizza back from the brink .
Santorum seemed to have a great grasp of historical/constitutional issues and a clear vision of where/how to lead. All had a much firmer hold on the constitution than the present occupants of the executive offices. To me, Johnson came out on the short end. It appears that beyond a business cost/benefit analysis of spending..he runs out of conservative gas.
The balanced (Republican) focus group conducted by Frank Lundt was a surprise. Frank started a show of hands to get an idea which candidate was most impressive and which one would they vote for at this moment. It was Herman Cain by a large margin..no need to go further. Second place is Rick Santorum...he pegged Obama as a total socialist...and the complete focus group agreed.
The group was disappointed that other candidates did not show, so the others will be starting a couple points behind in South Carolina.
Very informative.. The "opinion" parts above are mine only, you may disagree.. There are some exciting candidates out there yet ... DeMint, Bachmann, possible Rubio and West..all quality people....all the more so, when compared to.....
