Elusive 35 Remmington
« on: May 07, 2011, 05:36:46 PM »
For several months I have been trying to find a 35 Rem. locally. I got a tip that a gunshop about 30 miles from my home had one. I drove down and the shop owner said he did have one but it was a combo. Well as my luck runs it was a 444Mar.-35 Rem. combo. I didn't need anouther 444 as I already have two. I ended up buying it so we will have to wait and see if it's a shooter.

If all else fails you can always rechamber a 357 Mag.

Brian,

Don't think that will work.  35 rem is a larger overall cartridge.

Wouldn't that be conducive to what he said? From 357 to 35 Rem?

Yep, I think I read that wrong.  Thought he said rechamber to a 357 mag, (from the 35 rem the OP was discussing).

Jumped in the koolaid and didn't know the flavor :)

I wasn't trying to correct necessarily, just wondering if there was something I didn't know about these Handis. One thing to look at I guess might be twist rates.............?

What a combo!
Are you going to try to make some itty-bitty 44 Spl. equiv loads in that 444 for plinking?

No I have several others for plinking. I just couldn't find a 35 I could visualy inspect without buying the combo.

I am just now experimenting with the Super 35 Remington loads (+P loads) now but the more I shoot the 35 Remington, the more it is challenging the 30-30 for the best of all the Handi cartridges.
