Jason,
I've been through my meager data and cannot find a date when the snap-on/off fore stock was replaced by the screw attached version.
I'm thinking it probably occurred in/around 1973 (AL) when other changes occurred.
If we can get other folks who own SB guns from say 1970 to 1975 or later to contribute what is on their guns, perhaps we can nail this down.
Input needed.

I am also very interested in years of snap on forearms as I asked in a question abut half a page down.
Thanks Don.

i have 3 profiled 158 toppers: 1- AA/USPatent  2-AD/USPatent  3-AF?Serial#...  all that i have, 2-30/30 and 1-22jet, as well as any parts/barrels for profiled that i've seen are all snap-on forend. only exception was an obvious/ poorly done replacement with screw spud. not all that experienced on these, just what i've seen. regards, jather........
