Powder compression

Hi could anyone tell me where I may get a powder compression die model # or something I can make to compress powder in my 45/70's TIA

Or...

get an extra RCBS expanding die  (which you will need to use the Buffalo Arms compression insert anyway) and modify the expanding plug a bit.

It wants to be a bit smaller than the actual expanding plug you are using, and a bit shorter and a more square nose. That is pretty much the shape of the buffalo arms compression punch.

If you're using the RCBS Cowboy or Lyman M Dies, the expander in those work wonderfully for a powder compression die.

The reasonably priced Lee 'universal expanding die' uses a pair of tapered, reversible 'slugs' inside. A number of useful reloading tool slugs can be turned on a lathe to replace them in the die body, including a powder compression plug. As said, if you have an M die you can make your own too, but the Lee is just a simple turning with no threaded shank.
FWIW, The 'powder through expanding die' in the Lee die set is the same die body with the same potential.
