1911 sights
« on: May 18, 2011, 08:05:56 PM »
I have a GI style 1911 & want to change to fiber optic sights.  How do I remove (& reinstall) a front stake-on sight &  is there an adjustable rear sight that doesn't need any machining to install.  Thank you.
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!

jcn:  you should run this question past the gunnut69, the moderator of the gunsmithing forum.  I know there is a staking tool used to re-install the front sight on teh 1911 but I don't know how you would get the old one out without drilling it out and I am not going to recommend that practice unless the gunnut69 sez that is the way to do it.
