Rossi 20 ga heavy takes 2 more
« on: November 14, 2011, 02:23:23 PM »
I took #2 out for Youth day/week end,, He finaly decided he would try huntng this year (12).
He put about 25 rounds through it at the range on Friday,, never got off the 6" target at 50 yds.
Sat long Sat morning, Sat night, Sun morning,, never saw a deer. Kinda was bailing on Sunday afternoon, but in the end we sat for 1.25 hour.
At 30 min before end of legal light, he got the doe,, we decided to stay in the stand till 10 min before legal end to track the doe, it was a 35 yard shot and "looked" good to me. We are hunting in thinck laurel in a double stand about 15' up.
at 15 min till end of light he shoulders the gun and cocks it and aims off to his left, theres an opening about 70 yards out???? I ask whats up, he wispers he saw a deer tail flicking in the laurel headed towards that opening, 20 sec later the 7 pointer walks out, I grunted and the Rossi did it's job.
2.75 Buckhammer - boom flop.
Real proud of him, 1st 2 deer, no gut shots, clean kills.

Now that the site is back, heres a pic
I have had this Rossi "Ultra slugger" for 3 years now, I think it has taken about 11 deer.
