FAL rifle

Anybody open up gas port in barrel or modify gas system
in any way?

Do not drill the hole out. I have built allot of FN FALS and never had to open up the gas hole. Just adjust the gas ring.

Hi Lee,
 
Saw your reply, since my post I had done work on my FAL's.
 
FAL #1: DSA 16" heavy barrel, opened to .116--- hot and dirty
it runs on 4.5 setting.
 
FAL #2: DSA stg-58 16" standard, opened to .118 (3mm)
it runs like an AK, hot and dirty runs on setting 6
 
all is good---Why did I do this--- before FAL #1 hot and
dirty, I had to put setting on #1 to make it cycle.
I'm very happy the way they work now.
