woke to rain this morning
« on: June 14, 2011, 07:02:19 AM »
At last the gardens are getting a much needed drink.  The tomatoes and cucumbers look OK but I was about to start watering the potatoes and corn, and was already watering the radish, carrots, and onions.

Hope everyone else is getting what they need.  I know it was a rough start this spring

Between yesterday and today we got about an inch and three quarters so far.  The garden has really perked up but the weeds in the part not mulched are growing even faster.  It wouldn't hurt now if we got a couple of sunny dry days so I could get in there with the hoe and then apply mulch.  Not complaining though.

We could use some rain too, although I'd rather have it a bit dry than too wet.  ;D

same here Long, it's alot easier to add water to the garden than to try to remove it.

Finally getting enough rain to help out a little with the garden.  Watering twice a week was getting old already.  There's nothing like rain to make plants grow well!

The Service Berrys are blooming but the mornings are still below freezing. The snow melt is slow which is good. The Mtns are white with snow south of my place.  :)

SideWinder, looks like you have a "short" growing season.  I thought ours was short.
