Good news, Good news. OK with two days of rain the fires are down around Fairbanks, we got clean air again. Today it's only partly cloudy and the sun is shinning nice and bright. I should finish putting the new top on my car today, so I can start driving it again. I have a Mazda Miata, and the old original top leaked. I bought a new Leupold spotting scope last night.
The runs of Salmon are bigger than expected on the Copper river. Thinking of going back down to Chitna to do some dipping. For you folks that don't know what dipping means. It's where the fish are in the river so thick we just take a big dip net 3 to 4 ft in diameter, on an eight or ten foot handle and shove it out into the river up stream of us. Then the current takes it downstream. When we feel a bump, we twist the handle, and pull it, and the fish inside it, from the water. The Copper River is full of glacial silt, and you can not see through the water. You never know what kind of fish you have till you get it ashore. Might be a King, or a Red. I've had as many as three reds in the net at the same time. Limit is 60 Reds and either one or three Kings not sure this year. The King limit changes year to year.
Congresswoman Giffords was released from the hospital. That's real good news.
Obama is dropping lower and lower in the polls, and in everybody's opinion.
