Topper barrel on Handi?

  I looked through the FAQ but didn't find this one. 

  Can I put a barrel from a Topper onto a new Handi?  Is it basically the same sort of fit up process or is it major surgery?

Usually, but some may take a lot of modification to fit, I've tried two M158 30-30 barrels on modern SB2 frames one fit fine with no modification, the other would have needed a lot removed from the pivot so I didn't fit it, I tried it on at least a dozen frames.

If you shop around you can often find Toppers or Pardners so cheap complete that there isnt much sense in fitting up. The big plus is that either gun is complete then and ready to go without swapping, and MC rifle stocks dont work for me with shotguns (cheek 'bite').

I have  30-30 and  20 Gauge Topper barrels that locked up tight on one of my SB2 receivers. Shoot very well. Handle  even better.
