Ankle Holsters...
« on: March 16, 2004, 04:25:32 AM »
I have used ankle holsters, but I don't like them except when I am seated... like in a car.  I find that they make walking difficult and few pants can truly conceal the pistol.  The pants leg always seems to hang up on the gun or holster and blowing the conceal.  Also, when seated, the pants leg rises showing the ankle.  When I am seated in a car, this doesn't matter, but elsewhere, it can become a conceal problem.  Maybe the more coordinated people can pull this off, but I have trouble.

If you wear laced boots this is one of the best holster that I know of. Many of our officers wear them and they work great.

I have never used an ankle holster, but can recall two unfortunate incidents reguarding there use. 1. A man fell down a flight of stairs and broke his ankle.Said the rig got caught somehow. 2. Awoman (wearing slacks) Was bitten on the arm by a dog. I asked her why she didnt shoot the dog. She said she was afraid the dog would get her throat if she bent down to make the draw. ......Horsefeathers.
