Well 25 years ago when I scoped my RH in 44mag, it was pretty lean pickings. I think there were only a couple that would work without drilling and tapping, but then again this was before they came out with the integral cut rids also.
I used a set of Weaver, which worked fine for many years until I decided to run some of the then new Sierra 300gr, it only took about 20 rounds to defeat the screws, and after replacing them another 10 did the rear of the mount in.
I can however say that they held up to hundreds of exciting 180 grain loads which at 100yds with the 4X Leupy shot many 1" groups.
Today there are several good choices, and it would simply be a matter of how tough you wanted them to actually be, or how much you wanted to spend. I can say this, unless your looking at hunting from a fixed position, I wold go with nothing more than a 2X scope. The 4x is great, but it is way to much for average hunting or shooting, eye position is very critical. IMO.
