shooter2,

Just to let you know, yesterday I drove past where I thought the Mallets Mortar was and it’s still there.

If  as I suspect, you are going to get there by car, just to let you know parking close by is not very easy and it is right by a military establishment.

Regards,
Rotunda

Rotunda,
I will check it out on the same day I am over there to go to Woolwich Firepower Museum.  A taxi ride may be in order from the Museum, as I will have no car at that time.  Half the fun of exploring is finding the unexpected.  I must make sure I get lots of details as requested by Mike and Tracy.  Elevation, handwheels, wedges and vent location, I hope I do a good enough job.b  8)

Shooter2

Good luck with your Grand Tour. Here are a couple of pictures of "Firepower" in Woolwich, England, to whet your appetite.

Star2011,
Thanks for that.  I am now in contact with the Curator of Arms there so that I can gain access to the Grasshopper model on behalf of Gunsonwheels.  For an exchange of money he will open the cabinet and allow me to carry out close up photography at will.  I hope to get close up access to a few more things as well whilst there.
