No signal
« on: August 21, 2011, 07:16:52 AM »
I get no signal from my computer to my Hp Deskjet printer. Did an uninstall yesterday and reinstalled it. Printed one time and won't print again. It is set as my main printer or what ever you call it. Anyone have any suggestions?  If so keep it simple. I am computer stupid.

Try switching the printer cable to a different USB port on the computer.  If that doesn't work try a new USB cable.  (Order one off Amazon.com if you need one.  Chain stores charge way too much for a cable.)  If this doesn't fix the problem then it's probably internal in the printer and you need a new one.  Luckily walmart aways has some on sale for about 30 dollars or so.

Thanks Singleshotsam. The USB cord was my first thought. Already tried another port.
Did an uninstall.  Did a reinstall and it has worked for almost a week now.

Good deal.  Most likely it was a driver issue if the uninstall worked.  I'm glad it's working for you.
