Etowah Martial Arts
« on: June 30, 2011, 11:14:11 AM »
I am pleased to announce that I will be an official school owner of Etowah County in Alabama this July! Here is one of the logos for my new website. The second photo will be our school patch, when I get a better image of my twist kick. I want my hands positioned differently so that I can make the image a silhouette instead of a picture.

Excellent!!!! and congratulations.
I think everyone should learn a martial art. There is just so many good things that can be learned. Balance, coordination, self discipline, self control, strength training, respect and the list goes on.

Congratulations Heather; I know from the process that you worked very hard to acheive this..best wishes..

Two of my grandsons are deep into martial arts..One a Marine Sgt is a qualified instructor with the Corps...and yes, the knowledge came in very handy at least one time in  Iraq.  The other is into MMA fighting (in the cage).

What many people do not realize is the benefits in character, discipline and control MA teaches youngsters.  I recomend it for all youngsters whose parents watch their development.  I started the Marine in kick-boxing at about 14..
Of course, for my preference, I would want a sensei with heavy reliance on Christian principles, but that's just me.

Heather I am guessing Tae Kwon Do? From the look of you picture from the kick.

MA study is great. I started when i was 12 becuase everybody thought I was a scrawny little kid and needed muscle. I was still called a scrwany little kid until I was about 25. ;D
Over the course of time and becuase of moving around a bit I studied Shotokan, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Chinese Kenpo and Tai Chi. I have black belts in the first four and Tai Chi does not have a belt ranking.  As I get older I definitely feel the benifits of Tai Chi. I don't spar much anymore because I heal alot slower. By the way I have never had an instructor mention religion or anything anti christian.

Anyway good luck with your school.

I have been doing Martial Arts, mainly Taekwondo, since I was four years old. I have studied Jujitsu, Muay Thai, and Tai Chi as well. All of my children are active participants in Taekwondo both at home and seasonally at the school. I LOVE every thing about it. From the physical benefits along with the gratification of teaching others.

I wish you many happy days in the dojo.  May your venture be profitable as well.

Heather,
very nice resume and you get to spend time with your kids. That makes it even better.
I taught my daughters, it was a great way of spending time together.

A black belt in proud grandparenting is excellent also. I love going to tournaments. Hopefully you attend them also.
