recoil pads

putting limbsaver pads on my shotguns. should i take off the hard buttplate or do i leave it on.thanks for any info

It's gunna add to the length of pull and for that reason I think I took the hard plastic butt plate off mine.

If you are using a slip on see how the length is for you over the hard pad or plate. Per a very experience 'gunner' Ive gone to a longer LOP on my shotguns than my rifles and it works better. If its a fit to stock pad you gotta take off the original.
