Nice Model 97 in .357
« on: July 22, 2011, 05:22:20 PM »
I've been looking for a Model 97 in either .44 Spl or .45 Colt.  Today I stopped at Dury's Gunshop in San Antonio and looked at a nice Model 97 .357 Magnum they had there on consignment.  The barrel looked to be 7 1/2 inches, and the gun looked brand new except for one very light scratch on the underside of the barrel.  Marked price was $1349.00, bottom dollar quoted  was $1250.00 plus tax.  I almost bought it in spite of caliber and longer barrel, but decided to hold out for the caliber and barrel that I want.  I thought that it was a really nice gun for the price.  I'm sure that I will wind up paying more for the one I want.

I have no affiliation with Dury's nor the owner of the gun.  I was just passing through on my way home some 240 miles south.

Looking for something like this, perhaps? .45 Colt, express sights, black micarta grips, and shoots like a FA should.

Those two are really nice, but the one that melts my butter has a  5 1/2" or even a special order 5 " tube.  This week I visited an old friend who has several including one with a special order 5".  I thought that was about ideal, but all of them are jewels.
