Finally found some 5744 for the 45-70. Now what?
« on: July 27, 2011, 06:02:17 AM »
5744 has been sold out for a long time at the local shop.  Just found some at Cabelas. Been wanting to try it for awhile.

Need a good, mild load for a 350 grain cast bullet in the Ruger #3 around 1200 to 1400fps.  Any good ideas?  The data I saw was 28 to 30 grains.

Thanks.

25.3-28.2 will get you between 1325 FPS and 1475 FPS. Whenever I have a load question I shoot them an e-mail and their staff ballistician usually responds within a day, sometimes less.

I shoot 28 grs with 350-400 gr bullets. A magnum primer will help it burn cleaner.
In the 1920's "sheeple" was a term coined by the National Socialist Party in Germany to describe people that would not vote for Hitler. In the 1930's they held Hitler as the only one that would bring pride back to Germany and bring the budget and economy back.....
