H&R 45/75 SS Action
« on: July 09, 2011, 01:50:43 AM »
I was Cleaning up the 24" 45/70 and noticed the gap between the frame and the barrel is closer on the right side than the left. It seems to lock up fine, but my other HR,s are even on both sides? The latch also appears to be locking up only on the right side as it is shiney only on about a quarter inch right side of latch. Anything to be concerned about? Thanks gunny4   Ps the forearm  spacer narrow part is buckling a little on the frame also?

Hi Gunny4,

You need to read the FAQ sticky thread at the beginning of this forum.  There is all the information you need to check the lockup and frame/receiver fit of a Handi and also the information to correct problems if you are so inclined to do so yourself.  If you do not feel comfortable correcting a lockup/fit problem then H&R or a competent gunsmith should be able to help you out.

If she shoots good, I wouldn't worry about it.  Other than that,  BB posted good advice.
