Ed at a HMR cannons one of our sponsor makes moulds.

There are several other mould makers listed on our Blackpowder Cannons links list, did you look there?

We also have listed on the Cannon classified several group buys for round balls if that is what you are looking for.

Them Cabelas molds cast a pretty heavy cannon ball, great for fishin':  2lb. - 5lb. They would create a lot of pressure in cannons if cast with lead. Zinc would be lighter and safer.

The fishing weight mould are made of zinc and the balls they cast are not very round.

That's kinda what I figured... not a great fan of cast zinc molds even for lead... maybe okay for sinkers... already e-mailed armorer77 and he is looking at his schedule to do a pool ball and a tennis ball... TB definately for pouring zinc.

I'd saved that link years ago meaning to check it out but not with much hope for anything good... guess that's why it sat there for years.

Thanks for the inputs

We have the numbers for the Pool ball in the reference sticky.

We didn't have the numbers for a tennis ball in that sticky, but I just posted them.

Dimension of a Tennis ball.
...the acceptable range for ball diameter (2.575 inches to 2.700 inches respectively for a Type 2 ball). The accuracy of calibration is 1/-0.005 inches.  http://www.itftennis.com/technical/research/lab/balls/size.asp

That is a pretty wide range for use in a cannon.  I think it would be more useful to build a pop can cannon.  Then for lower velocity use the tennis balls in that bore.

My early day experience with tennis balls using flammable gases and black powder as propellant is that without a filler, tennis balls come apart.
