barrel to bed?

      Would i be hung as an infidel if i put an 1807 barrel on an 1841 mortar bed?
looking for ejectors - 308, 8mm, 35 rem, 25-20, 32-20, 357 mag, 45LC

I don't know why you should be lynched, that's a 10-inch mortar ca. 1807, and I don't think it's known exactly what kind of bed it was mounted on. The first picture seen in this link shows the wooden bed with front wheels that this type mortar was supposedly mounted on by the CSA on Morris Island when they fired on Ft. Sumter.

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

There is a cross piece directly under the trunnions on the 1844 design that would have to be left out to use the 1807 design.  Other than that, it would probably work.
